In the movie ‘Maari’ –
hero Danush is inclined to raising Pigeons and one important scene dwells on ‘Karna Pura” - know what it is ??
As we commonly see, most of the Pigeons are Ash,
black, brown coloured – a very miniscule % is White ones and there are rare
ones like this one pictured here which
had spots of White in ash brown !!
This is - "White Back" (The Rump Patch): bright white patch on its lower back - a
classic, defining feature of the wild Rock Pigeon (Columba livia). While
domestic and urban pigeons come in a massive variety of mixed colors, this
specific marking is a beautiful throwback to their ancestral genetic roots. The way its wings are fully spread out reveals
the intricate, mottled pattern of its flight feathers. It shows the perfect
mechanics of a bird breaking its speed for a landing—using its tail feathers
fanned out wide like a parachute and its wings swept forward to catch the air.
Back to
Maari – Karna puraas – go up in the air and perform tumbling actobatics. Tumbler pigeons are a distinct group of
domesticated pigeons (Columba livia) famous for their unique, genetically
inherited ability to somersault backward mid-air or along the ground.
The Maaris ie.,
those interested in Pigeon can identify them so casually – the song at the
start which says about soulful identification is from the movie Gunaa !
Gunaa –
flopped at the box office – as not many could digest the picturisation of the Kamal
Starrer, directed by Santhana Bharathi and co-written
by Sab John. It paired Rekha and
newcomer Roshini (in her only film appearance). The story revolved around
lunatic Gunaa kidnapping an heiress (Rohini) to make her fall in love
with him. The film had lovely songs
music of Isaignani Illayaraja - . "Kanmani Anbodu Kadhalan" became a milestone
in Tamil cinema for the way it mixed dialogue and lyrics. The one at the start was written by Vaali.
The movie
had traces of - Spanish black romantic
comedy movie - Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! directed by Pedro Almodóvar, starring Victoria
Abril and Antonio Banderas The plot
follows a recently released psychiatric patient who kidnaps an actress in order
to make her fall in love with him. He believes his destiny is to marry her and
father her children. The film was highly successful with both critics and
audiences in Spain
Interesting
