*Cast your Vote in TN Urban Civic Poll*
Today is the day of - Tamil Nadu Urban Civic Polls. After a gap of over 10 years, the Tamil Nadu urban local body polls are being held today (Saturday 19.2.2022) in a single phase. Voting begins at 7 am and will end at 6 pm. Factually the time span is 7 am to 5 pm – as 5pm to 6 pm is for Covid19 affected. It is Electronic machine polling and not paper ballots.
Please go out and vote – never waste your franchise. For those of us at Vasavi Parthas, Vijay Avenue, Venkatrangam Street – the polling booth is MOP Vaishnava School opp to Vasantha Bungalow. Just in case, you want have some information on the candidates at your ward (ours is Ward 116 Zone 9) – all details are available in Tamil Nadu State Election Commission web portal (tnsec.tn.nic.in)
You may require a Booth slip, which is available at the entrance of Pooling Booth itself. This booth slip is only for information and not the identity card for voting. Please carry with you a valid proof that would include : Aadhar card, MGNREGA identify card, Bank or Postal account passbook with photo, Health insurance smart card (issued by the government labour welfare department), Driving licence, PAN card, smart card issued under the National Population Register, Passport, retirement benefit cards, identity cards issued by government agencies or Public Sector Undertakings.
