Cat says - am not interested !!

It easily ranks on top of the World of pets !!  -  Feeling sleepy ! or clearly disinterested ! – could not make out the meaning of this gesture !!

 

Victoria, a young white cat, is left abandoned by her owner in the streets of London in the middle of the night. The alley cats, witnessing this, introduce themselves to her as the "Jellicles". Mr. Mistoffelees, Munkustrap, Cassandra and Demeter take Victoria under their wing and show her the world of the Jellicles as they prepare for the Jellicle Ball, an annual ceremony where cats must compete to be chosen to go to the Heaviside Layer and be granted a new life.  

Cats is a 2019 musical fantasy film based on the 1981 stage musical of the same name by Andrew Lloyd Webber, which in turn was based on the poetry collection Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats (1939) by T. S. Eliot. The film was directed by Tom Hooper, in his second feature musical following Les Misérables, from a screenplay by Lee Hall and Hooper. It features an ensemble cast, including James Corden, Judi Dench, Jason Derulo, Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson,   and Francesca Hayward in her film debut.  

The cat (Felis catus) is a domestic species of small carnivorous mammal. It is the only domesticated species in the family Felidae and is commonly referred to as the domestic cat or house cat to distinguish it from the wild members of the family.  Cats are commonly kept as house pets but can also be farm cats or feral cats; the feral cat ranges freely and avoids human contact.  Domestic cats are valued by humans for companionship and their ability to kill rodents.  

The cat is similar in anatomy to the other felid species: it has a strong flexible body, quick reflexes, sharp teeth, and retractable claws adapted to killing small prey like mice and rats. Its night vision and sense of smell are well developed. Cat communication includes vocalizations like meowing, purring, trilling, hissing, growling, and grunting as well as cat-specific body language. Although the cat is a social species, it is a solitary hunter. As a predator, it is crepuscular, i.e. most active at dawn and dusk. It can hear sounds too faint or too high in frequency for human ears, such as those made by mice and other small mammals. 

Down under,  a hunting contest in rural New Zealand where children were to compete to kill the greatest number of feral cats for a cash prize has been canceled after a backlash from animal rights organizations.  

New Zealand, an island nation, has aggressively tried to control invasive species from overwhelming its native wildlife. But culling feral cats remains divisive, and the planned hunt inflamed debate about the morality of the practice and how children should be taught about invasive species management. “There is no right or wrong here,” said  a conservation biologist at the University of Auckland. While New Zealanders broadly agree that feral cats need to be controlled, he said, “the issue is that it kind of touches on all these broader ethical issues: Should kids be the one killing cats? Should it be done as a charity competition event?”  

Be that it may, this Cat perhaps was not interested in showing itself to my Camera and sort of me wished /whisked me away !!

மாடுகள் சிறப்பான அழகு கொண்டவை ! - பசு மாடு மிக அழகானது, அதிலும் கன்றுக்குட்டி மனசை கவரும். 

கங்கை அமரன் இயக்கத்தில் வெளி வந்த கிராமிய படம் - எங்க ஊரு பாட்டுக்காரன், தமிழ் திரையுலகை புரட்டி போட்டது.  மனோ, ராமராஜன், நிஷாந்தி அனைவருக்கும் மேலும் பல வாய்ப்புகளை பெற்று தந்தது.  அருமையான பாடல்கள்.  இசைஞானி இளயராஜாவின் உன்னத இசை மறுபடி மறுபடி கேட்க தூண்டியது.   இத்திரைப்படம் பெரும் வெற்றி பெற்றது. 

ராமராஜன் ஒரு நீல நிற அரைக்கால் ட்ராயர் அணிந்து - பசுமாட்டை தழுவி செண்பகமே, செண்பகமே என்று பாடினார். பலமிக்க காளையை ஒரு பாட்டு பாடி மண்டியிட வைத்தார்.

ஏழூரு சீமையிலும் உன் போல யாருமில்ல !!  எட்டாத ஊரில் எங்கும் உன் போல பேருமில்ல !!

எப்போதும் நன்றி உள்ள உன் போல ஜீவன் இல்ல !!

பாட்டுக்காரன் பாட்டு கோவிக்காமே கேட்டு வாடி வாடி என்னுடைய பேச்சி !!

 

இன்று திருவல்லிக்கேணியில் இந்த குழந்தை கன்றுக்குட்டியை, பாசத்துடனும், பரிவுடனும் - தன அன்பை வெளிப்படுத்தியபோது !!

இந்த கூரிய  கொம்புகள் கொண்ட காளையை கண்டவுடன் கவியரசர் கண்ணதாசன் மெல்லிசை மன்னரின் இசையில் "காதலிக்க நேரமில்லை" பாடல் வரிகள் ஞாபகம் வந்தன.  என்ன பார்வை உந்தன் பார்வை  ~  எனை மறந்தேன் இந்த வேளை.

இந்த பாடலை கேட்டு இருக்கீர்களா ?!?  -  உழவு மாடுகள் விவசாயிகளின் செல்வம் ஆகும். மாடு என்றால் பொதுவில் செல்வம் என்று பொருள். இந்த அற்புத பாடல் இடம் பெற்ற படம் "மகாதேவி"  1957ம் ஆண்டு வெளிவந்த தமிழ்த் திரைப்படம். சுந்தர் ராவ் நட்கர்ணி இயக்கத்தில் வெளிவந்த இத்திரைப்படத்தில் எம்.ஜி . இராமச்சந்திரன், சாவித்ரி  நடித்திருந்தனர்.

வீரப்பா பேசும் அனல் தெறிக்கும் வசனங்களும் அந்நாட்களில் மிகவும் பிரபலம். சுந்தர் ராவ் நட்கர்ணி இயக்கத்தில், வந்த  மகாதேவி என்ற படத்தில் வீரப்பா பேசிய வசனங்கள் காலம்கடந்தும் ரசிகர்கள் மனதில் ஆழப்பதிந்த ஒன்று. அப்படத்தில் நடிகை சாவித்திரியின் பெயர் மகாதேவி. வீரப்பா சாவித்ரியை காதல் பொங்க பார்க்கும் பார்வையும், ‘மணந்தால் மகாதேவி, இல்லையேல் மரண தேவி’   அன்றைய காலகட்டத்தில் ரசிகர்கள் மத்தியில் மிக மிக பிரபலம்.  இந்த வசனத்திற்கு கைதட்டல்களையும் விசில்களை பலத்த கரகோஷத்தையும் திரை அரங்குகளில் வெளிப்படுத்தியிருக்கின்றனர். காதலிக்கும் இளைஞர்கள், தங்கள் காதலியின் பெயரை சேர்த்து ‘மணந்தால் ____ , இல்லையேல் மரணதேவி’ என்று கூறி மகிழ்வார்களாம்.

Is the present bunch of CSK the weak-kneed bowling attack !!

It was mayhem at Bengaluru and everyone was inclined to post something on social media – with many of them ranking the bowling attack comprising of - Akash Singh, Tushar Deshpande, Maheesh Theekshana, Ravindra Jadeja, Matheesha Pathirana, Moeen Ali – as most weak-kneed and cannot defend 300 even !  -  dedicated to all those CSK baiters!!

Chennair Super Kings was on a roll- posting a massive 226 for 6 : Devon Conway's 45-ball 83,  Shivam Dube's 27-ball 52, and  they struck early through their Impact Player Akash Singh dismissing Virat Kohli for 6 in the first over. Mahipal Lomror then fell to Tushar Deshpande in the next over,  then RCB gave a real challenge. Ground fielding was extremely poor, with so many catches being floored.  Du Plessis was  dropped on 0,   then on  52,  Super Kings dropped two more catches in a lax fielding effort. 

Those watching the match comfortably lying in couch in airconditioned environ were jittery – one man stood calm, brazenly calm – no prize for guessing Mahendra Singh Dhoni, a real leader.

As you read further, what would call a bowling attack of Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Ishwar Pandey, Ashok Dinda, Mitchell Marsh, Ali Murtaza, Aaron Finch! And Luke Wright -  all in their prime youth – exactly 10 years ago !!

At Centurion on that death-knell day for bowlers, Australia made flattering 434/4 and could not contain South Africa who chased it successfully making 438/9.   

If one were to say ‘Apple for Oranges’ as that was an ODI, another team of Wayne Parnell, Aiden Markram, Kagiso Rabada,  Marco Jansen,  Sisanda Magala,  Tabraiz Shamsi  (other than the last everyone playing in IPL 2023) conceded 258, yes 258 to West Indies team in a T20I at  Centurion, on March 26, 2023,  not even a month ago !!

That Bhuvi led attack leaked 263 runs in 20 overs bowling for Pune Warriors  to RCB on Apr 23, 2013.  You can continue ridiculing this CSK attack, however, its warrior leader MSD has immense faith on all his bunch and yesterday spoke so nicely about the process and following it on a long term.  He is a great successful leader.
