sound of music ! - sarala varisai learnt from Kuyil

 தமிழ் இலக்கணத்தில் பாணாற்றுப்படை என்றால் என்ன தெரியுமா ?? 

Mornings starts with music –  even to me, one totally  devoid of wisdom in music, sometimes the music is so soothing.  

                 Maria is a free-spirited young Austrian woman studying to become a nun at Nonnberg Abbey in Salzburg in 1938. Her youthful enthusiasm and lack of discipline causes some concern. Mother Abbess sends Maria to the villa of retired naval officer Captain Georg von Trapp to be governess to his seven children.  Although the children misbehave at first, Maria responds with kindness and patience, and soon the children come to trust and respect her. 

In Celtic cultures, a bard is a professional story teller, verse-maker, music composer, oral historian and genealogist, employed by a patron (such as a monarch or chieftain) to commemorate one or more of the patron's ancestors and to praise the patron's own activities.  With the decline of a living bardic tradition in the modern period, the term has loosened to mean a generic minstrel or author (especially a famous one).   William Shakespeare was known as - "the Bard of Avon"  and Shri Rabindranath Tagore as "the Bard of Bengal".  In 16th-century Scotland, it turned into a derogatory term for an itinerant musician; nonetheless it was later romanticised by Sir Walter Scott. 

நீங்கள் நடுத்தர வயதினரா ?  முன்பெல்லாம் திருவல்லிக்கேணி, மயிலாப்பூர் போன்ற பகுதிகளில் நிறைய பாட்டு டீச்சர்கள் இருந்தார்கள்.  திருவல்லிக்கேணியில் திருமதி கோமடம் கமலா, திருமதி சந்திரா (தவந உத்சவ பங்களா), சரஸ்வதி கான நிலையம் போன்ற இடங்களில், பள்ளி மாணவிகள் பலரும் சென்று -  ஸ ரி க ம  ப த நி ஸ என்று சாதகம் பயில்வார்கள்.  சங்கீதம் வராத - புரியாத, அறியாத ஞானசூனியங்கள் அவர்களை இழித்து வம்புக்கு இழுப்பார்கள் !!! 

மார்கழி மாதத்தில் பல இடங்களில் சாஸ்திரிய சங்கீதம் கமழும்.  18 ஆம் நூற்றாண்டில் தமிழ்நாட்டின் மையத்தில் கர்நாடக சங்கீதத்தின் மும்மூர்த்திகள் என அழைக்கப்படும் தியாகராஜர், முத்துஸ்வாமி தீக்ஷிதர் மற்றும் சியாமா சாஸ்திரி என்ற மாபெரும் வாக்கேயக்காரர்களின் (composers )வடிவில், கீர்த்தனை மரபு  மிளிர்ந்தது.

புதிதாக சங்கீதம் கற்றுக்கொள்பவர்களுக்கான பால பாடத்தில் முதல் பாடமே ஸ்வர வரிசைகள். பொதுவாக இவை ‘மாயமாளவ கெளளை’ ராகத்தில் கற்றுக்கொடுக்கப்படுகின்றன.  ஸவரவரிசைகளில் முதல் வரிசையில் எல்லா ஸ்வரங்களையும், ஏறுமுகத்திலேயும், இறங்குமுகத்திலேயும் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. 

பாணர் என்பவர்கள்   இசை சமூகத்தினர் - அற்புதமான கலைஞர்கள் எனினும் அவர்கள் ஏழ்மையில் வாடினர்.   மன்னர்கள் அல்லது பிரபுக்கள் ஒருவரை பரிசுக்காக வாழ்த்தும் பாடலே - பாணாற்றுப்படை  இலக்கியமாக உருவெடுத்துள்ளது.    வறுமையில் வாடும் பாணனை ஆற்றுப்படுத்துவதாக எட்டுப் பாடல்கள் சங்கப் பாடல் தொகுப்பில் உள்ளன.  தமிழ்நாட்டினூடே பாணர்கள்  அலைந்து திரிகையில் ஒரு பாணர்கூட்டம் இன்னொரு பாணர் கூட்டத்தைச் சந்திப்பார்கள்.  இச்சந்திப்புகள் ஒவ்வொரு குழுவும் மற்றவரின் இசைக்கருவிகள் பற்றியும், அக்கலைஞர்களின் இசைப் பண்புகள், கூடுதல் சாத்தியங்கள் பற்றியெல்லாம் தமக்குள் பரிமாறி அறிந்துகொள்ளும் வாய்ப்பாக அமையும். 

The story of Maria at the start is the storyline of ‘The Sound of Music’ famous musical film released in 1965, produced and directed by Robert Wise, starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, with Richard Haydn, Peggy Wood.   The film was an adaptation of the 1959 stage musical of the same name, composed by Richard Rodgers with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II.  

 

This morning, this Cuckoo (kuyil) was troubling its vocal cords trying to teach me ‘sarala varisai’… .. me was more interested in photographing her.
