SKY - High !!!!!

Ever heard of a Cricketer - Sabawoon Davizi

Back in Jul 18, 2021, in ODI no. 4307 - 1st ODI (D/N), between India and Sri Lanka,   Srilanka’s new captain -  Madagamagamage Dasun Shanaka won the toss and decided to bat.  The match was played at Premadasa stadium previously known as   Khettarama Stadium.   Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav made  their debuts !

Today, India and South Africa are battling it out - the 2nd T20I on Sunday at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. India won the first T20I by 8 wickets  .. the match is played at Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Cricket Stadium, also known as Assam Cricket Association Stadium or Barsapara Cricket Stadium, I Guwahati, Assam. This stadium was  inaugurated by Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal on 10 October 2017. The Cricket Stadium is India's 49th international cricket venue.

Today the pitch report read – the pitch is generally on the slower side. The ball doesn't come onto the bat as well as the batters would like it to and that makes stroke-play a little difficult.  The bowlers who bowl tight lines and take the pace off their deliveries enjoy success here and the spinners will come into play as the pitch might offer turn and grip for them.

In front of a sold-out Guwahati crowd at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, South Africa captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and, expectedly, chose to bowl -  would rue his decision for sure.   . South Africa made one change, adding an extra pacer to their attack with right-arm seamer Lungi Ngidi replacing left-arm wristspinner Tabraiz Shamsi. India remained unchanged from their eight-wicket win in Thiruvananthapuram.

He walks with a swagger and bats like a certain Viv Richards did in his hey days - Eleven years after his first-class debut,  Suryakumar Yadav's first international came belatedly in 2021, whereupon he hooked the first ball he faced in a T20I, from Jofra Archer, for six. He produced two fifties in his first three T20Is.

He plays all the shots, more so well the Dhoni-like helicopter on legside, sending the ball soaring in to crowd.  He placed himself on high pedestal playing for Mumbai Indians.

Today Team rattled a very high 237/3 in 20 overs.  KL Rahul made 57 off mere 28; Rohit Sharma 43 of 37  Virat Kohli unbeaten 49 off 28; Dinesh Karthik a cameo 17 off 7 ..  yet the man who stole the show with his 61 off 22 (50 off 18) was Suryakumar Yadav. SKY hit 5 sixers and 5 fours !!   Rohit and Rahul had an opening partnership of 96

In T20I as of date, the highest aggregate is owned by Rohit Sharma  3737 (141); Virat Kohli 3712 (101); Martin Guptil 3497 (121); Babar Azam 3039 (87) and the top 5 is completd by PR Stirling of Ireland 3011 (115 matches)

Today, Suryakumar Yadav continued his brilliant run in the T20I format as he became the third fastest Indian batter to go past the 1000-run mark in T20Is.  SKY  reached the landmark when he crossed the 24-run mark in Guwahati on October 2. Virat Kohli is the fastest Indian batter to get 1000 runs in T20Is  taking  only 27 innings to reach the milestone. KL Rahul   achieved the feat in 29 innings. Suryakumar is the 9th Indian batter to do so, joining the elite list of batters that includes the likes of Kohli, Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Shikhar Dhawan, and Suresh Raina.

Star batter Suryakumar Yadav broke Shikhar Dhawan's record for most T20I runs in a calendar year today .. ..   the 32-year-old batter achieved the milestone with a six off South Africa pacer Anrich Nortje.

The fastest to score 1000 runs (in 24 Innings) is jointly held by Dawid Malan of England and S Davizi of Czech Republic.  . The scene was the Continental Cup, in the village of Moara Vlasiei, north-east of the Romanian capital of Bucharest. Batting first on a ground with no more than a dozen spectators, Czech Republic made 278 in 20 overs thanks to their star batsman's 35-ball hundred and then bowled Turkey out for 21 to win by 257 runs.

Interesting !  .. .. well played Suryakumar Yadav
