condoling the passing away of Mr RK Elango, Surveyor

To those of us in Insurance field, this address was too well known -  “Felix Tower, Ammayappa Nagar, Vayalur Road, Tiruchi East, Trichy – 620008” – and many in the industry were keenly following the decision of the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court pronounced on 27.2.2019 on a challenge in conduct of survey.

7th Aug 2019 was a sad day – for our friend, Senior surveyor, vociferous champion of surveyor’s cause – Mr RK Elango passed away after fighting illness for sometime. He was 60.

He was a leading surveyor, championing the cause of surveyor fraternity against Insurers taking it legal battle at times.  More importantly, he would be remembered as a friendly person, man of knowledge, mentor to many budding surveyors of the industry, well connected to insurance officials – and – very passionate of imparting knowledge in the industry.  His training programmes would be meticulously planned, throwing in an array of subject matter experts in the field, conducted in a conducive atmosphere, making learning a very serious perspective. His study material and books prepared for the insurance industry would stand a longway, making people remember him.

He was always a good host, taking care of people – and to me personally, his passing away is a great loss.  He had invited me to many seminars for delivering insurance lectures and I have had many interactions with him on insurance topics which I would savour forever.

I offer my deep condolences and pray for strength to his family at this hour of bereavement.

We remember you Mr RK Elango !

With profound regards and regrets on his passing away – S. Sampathkumar
