What a
moment it is ………. After watching India beat South Korea and entering Finals of
Kabbadi this morning ……. The much awaited golden moment came.
GOLD in
HOCKEY …. Yes, India beats Pakistan ……. After
1-1 in the play, India beat Pak 4-2 in Penalties and wins gold………….. and a
place in Rio Olympics.
With about
5 minutes go, India earned a penalty corner, their second one – but Rupinderpal
could not milk the opportunity as it boiled down to penalty. Gurwinder Chandi scored the 1st;
Sreejesh saved one from Haseem Abdul Khan; Rupinder scored; Waqas too netted……….then
Manpreet’s goal was disallowed – I could not make out how…
Few minutes
later, Priyanka Pawar, Tintu Lukka, Mandeep Kaur,
Poovamma Raju Machettira clock 3:28.68 to win gold for India in Women's 4 x
400m Relay.
Earlier,
PT Usha’s pet Tintu Luka came so close but ended up losing gold settling for
Silver in women's 800 metres final race.
Margarita set a new Asian Games record of 1:59.02 seconds while Tintu timed her season's best of 1:59.19. last time at Guangzhou too Tintu led the pack right from
the start but could not keep pace in the last 50m to finish third.
