Know your EPF balance Online

Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation is a statutory body under Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.

Sure, you observe that everymonth 12% of your Basic is deducted as PF and sure you don’t have how much stands deducted and is in your PF account on this date ~ !

This is the deduction towards – Provient Fund – under the The Employees’ Provident Fund & Miscellaneous Provisions Act 1952  which applies to the whole India except Jammu & Kashmir.  The act specifies that every establishment which is engaged in any one or more of the industries specified in Schedule I of the Act or any activity notified by Central Government in the Official Gazette and employing more than 20 persons is subject to this Act.

Depending upon the  category there is 12% deduction; for some it is 10%.   Now you can easily know your EPF Balance, that too in SMS from the department, by an unique service launched by the Department from 1st July 2011.

It is simple and easy :
Please click on the following link to know the balance in your EPF Account upto the date, the accounts are updated, which also includes the latest approved transactions of settlement/advances/transfer-in/transfer-out, if any.

The link :  EPF Online

Select the EPFO office where your account is maintained and furnish your PF Account number.

(the Account No. is available in your pay slip.  Leave the fourth box empty and the last box to be filled with your PF no. as per the slip)

Leave the extension field blank, in case your account does not have one.
You will be asked to enter your name and mobile number. The given mobile number will be recorded along with the PF Account Number.
On successful submission of above information, the details will be sent through SMS to the given mobile number.

I have tried this and have successfully received my balance through SMS in minutes.  Really a great service by the Government Department.

You would also wish to try this  immediately
