Mid-air collision

 

Birds very rarely crash into each other during flight, even when flying in large, dense flocks.   

Researches state that birds  almost always veer to the right when facing another bird head-on, and they  also choose whether to fly above or below others (altitude adjustment), often based on a preset preference or flock hierarchy, further reducing collision risk 

But nearer home, Pigeons, Crows etc., when flocking towards food grains do collide on each other, collide on tree branches and sometimes on the ropes that are kept for drying  clothes  - however, they are rare !!
