Presenting our Sept. 2012 issue of BLISS - voice of SYMA

BLISS – the newsletter, the voice of Srinivas Youngmens Association is in your hands.  Click here to download soft copy of the issue

A few decades ago, there were few schools and poor could ill-afford even primary education.  The right to education seeks to change this totally and provide education to all.

At school, students should never feel discriminated and one form of removing any possible indignation was to make them attend school in uniforms.  We have been providing uniforms to children ensuring their attending school with dignity. Even in a metropolitan city like Chennai, there are children who cannot afford good dress and our distribution of uniform has been handy to good number of students in attending school with dignity.   Our present issue details at length our Educational Aid Programme held on 28th July 12, whence we distributed uniforms to school children, financial assistance to  select college students, honoured toppers of our Tuition Centre and of schools in Triplicane.  Padma Bushan awardee, nonagenarian  Mrs Sarojini Varadappan was the Chief Guest.  Read inside about the Education Aid programme.

The present Issue also covers apart from our concern for Kudankulam; and other current developments at National level something about
-        medical camp of SYMA at Mahaswami Vidya Mandir
-        tribute to SYMA Sewa award recipient Dr N Seetharaman
-        a  detailed article – a firsthand description at that on London Olympics 2012 by Mr Kamesh Srinivasan, dear friend of many of us.

You know that  the  magnificent tiger, Panthera tigris has its pride of place as the national animal of India. Do you know what is the State Animal of Tamil Nadu ? – find out the answer in Bliss issue

Do respond with your feedback and thanks to all of you whose support only is ensuring that we are able to continue to serve the Society and make it a better place to live in
