Pournami Nila !!

சந்திரனை தொட்டது யார் ஆம்ஸ்ட்ராங்கா ?!?!?   நிலா என்றதும் உங்கள் மனதில் வரும் பாடல் வரிகள் எவை ??

Mathi, venmathi, thanmathi, thingal, ambuli, nila, chandamama and more – all names of that shining cool one seen in the sky in the night – Chandran ! -the moon. Chandiran, Nila, Ambuli and more in India; Luna  by the Romans, Selene and Artemis by the Greeks, and many other names in other mythologies. The Moon is revered liked and held high since prehistoric times. 

இன்று  18.12.2021 பௌர்ணமி !  இன்று வானத்திலே முழுமதியாக வானிலா கவர்கிறது.  நிலவின் வேறு எந்த நிலையோடு ஒப்பிட்டுப்பார்க்கும் போதும், முழுநிலவாய் அது இருக்கும் தருணத்தில் அது வெளிப்படுத்தும் அதிர்வும், சக்தியும் மிக அத்புதமாக இருக்கிறது.

சினிமா ரசிகர்களுக்கு நிலவு என்றாலே காதல் - ஏகப்பட்ட பாடல்கள் ஞாபகம் வரலாம். கர்ணன் சினிமாவில் சிவாஜியும் தேவிகாவும்  கனவு காணும் ஒரு பாடல்.  இரவு நேரம். முழுமதி பால்போல ஒளிவீச, கர்ணன் உப்பரிகையில் அமர்ந்து நிலவை பார்க்க, அதில் காதலி தோன்றி அவனை அழைக்கிறாள் ! : 

இரவும் நிலவும் வளரட்டுமே  !  நம் இனிமை நினைவுகள் தொடரட்டுமே !!

நிலவே என்னிடம் நெருங்காதே நீ நினைக்கும் இடத்தில் நானில்லை என்றொரு பாடலை கேட்டுள்ளேன்.  

வானில் முழு மதியைக் கண்டேன்!  வனத்தில் ஒரு பெண்ணைக் கண்டேன்

வான முழு மதியைப் போலே!  மங்கையவள் வதனம் கண்டேன்!!

The Waxing Gibbous moon today (on December 18, 2021)  has an illumination of 100%. This is the percentage of the Moon illuminated by the Sun. The illumination is constantly changing and can vary up to 10% a day. On December 18 the Moon is 14.15 days old. This refers to how many days it has been since the last New Moon. It takes 29.53 days for the Moon to orbit the Earth and go through the lunar cycle of all 8 Moon phases. 

There are 8 lunar phases the Moon goes through in its 29.53 days lunar cycle. The 4 major Moon phases are Full Moon, New Moon, First Quarter and Last Quarter. Between these major phases, there are 4 minor ones: the Waxing Crescent, Waxing Gibbous, Waning Gibbous and Waning Crescent. 

Moon is always alluring and enchanting ! – rush to your house terrace to enjoy today’s moon.  For sure, it is more enticing than what you see on a photo
