wheels of change ! Pattern in chaos ! ~ lorry driver Rajakannu !!

Wheels of change !! - Chaotic pattern or pattern among chaos !!  The object's degree of rotational symmetry is the number of distinct orientations in which it looks exactly the same for each rotation.   You might be surprised to learn that when you turn your car, your front wheels are not pointing in the same direction. For an automobile  to turn smoothly, each wheel must follow a different circle.

Long ago, during my school days, saw a Tamil movie when aged Hero drives a laden truck – his mannerisms suggested that driving and turning it was full of human muscle and tooth power as he showed so much of movement and energy in steering the vehicle !!

Automobiles turn their wheels primarily through the steering system, which converts the rotational motion of the steering wheel into the turning of the front wheels.  For any automobile  to turn smoothly, each wheel must follow a different circle. Since the inside wheel is following a circle with a smaller radius, it is actually making a tighter turn than the outside wheel. If you draw a line perpendicular to each wheel, the lines will intersect at the center point of the turn. The geometry of the steering linkage makes the inside wheel turn more than the outside wheel.

There are a couple different types of steering gears. The most common are rack-and-pinion and recirculating ball. This system, most commonly rack-and-pinion steering, connects the steering wheel to the wheels via a series of gears, linkages, and pivot points.

The movie mentioned at the top was the Sivaji Ganesan starrer ‘ ‘Lorry driver Rajakannu’ released in 1981 – Sripriya was the heroine, movie  directed by AC  Tirulokchandar who also wrote the screenplay. It was a  remake of the Telugu film Driver Ramudu, released in 1979 starring NT Rama Rao and Jayasudha, K Raghavendra Rao being the director

Interesting !
