Crow flying ! and the timing of it !!

Crows are commonly seen ! – how much do you like them –A close up photo of a Crow flying -    - “As the Crow flies !!”  ~  and the timing of such a shot !

Hardik Pandya's return to the Wankhede Stadium as Mumbai Indians captain was far from a fairy tale, as the five-time champions lost their third game in a row, this time with 27 balls to spare. Rajasthan Royals - led by superb performances from Trent Boult, Yuzvendra Chahal and Riyan Parag - gave them a thorough hammering to move to No. 1 on the points table with a hat-trick of victories. IPL starkly teaches you one thing – it is not about picking best players, it is more about strategy about utilizing the resources in the best possible way – the timing of things !

The expression ‘as the crow flies’  is an idiom for the most direct path between two points.  In geometry, a geodesic   is a curve representing in some sense the shortest  path (arc) between two points in a surface, or more generally in a Riemannian manifold.  The meaning of the expression is attested from the early 19th century, and appeared in the Charles Dickens novel Oliver Twist (1838)

Crows are generally considered scavengers and not necessarily portrayed in good light. As someone known for raising his voice against social injustice, Mahakavi Subrahmanya Bharatahiyar   equated the pleasure of realizing spiritual bliss to an incident of intense pain (being burnt)! and in putting his finger in the middle of fire !
