2022 – it is only 22nd match today but CSK has been bruised,
battered and its fans memed, ridiculed and what not .. it is tough out there
and more tough to remain a Chennai Super King supporter !!
RCB sounds very solid on paper – CSK searching for its batting line-up, confused about the bowlers and searching for an elusive win .. .. much dependent on Mooen Ali – who was run out ! – sensational fielding display by .. .. Suyash Prabhudessai, who ? – a debutant making an impression early in the game with his fielding. Flatter and quicker outside off, cut towards backward point; Suyash dives, stops, and accurately throws to the keeper ! agony for CsK fan.
Not sure in how many earlier editions, CSK struggled similarly – read that in 2010, a decade and 2 years back, CSK lost 4 matches on the trot. Another defeat today could all but end their season. Their opponents, Royal Challengers Bangalore, are being led by one of their own in Faf du Plessis and are in the top half of the table with three wins in four outings. Super Kings are indeed missing the du Plessis touch at the top with the bat. A struggling Ruturaj Gaikwad has taken sheen off the quick, fiery starts Robin Uthappa has been getting off to, which has hampered the side. That head coach Stephen Fleming lamented the batting, bowling and fielding after the loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad indicates that the self-belief of the four-time champions is on shaky grounds.
A very important game for CSK – statistically 200th game in IPL for them. CSK head coach Stephen Fleming said : "We need improvement in all areas. There were very less finishers in the auction and Dinesh's experience is unmatched” Faf wins the toss and opts to bowl.

After Ruturaj scoring 17; Mooen out for 3 – it was 36/2 in 6.4 then 201/3 in 18.5 – in between Shivam Dube massacred and on 94 could get only a single off the last ball scoring 95 off 46 with 8 sixers, while Robin Uthappa excelled making 88 off 50 with 9 sixers !
