the costliest watch of Hublot ~ & the precision clock

It could be an unending not understood conundrum – how some commodities command vastly different price than its utility !   There are many who perennially come late to meetings and functions and many do not maintain time at all.  Most do not understand that by coming late, they are disrespecting those who were on time.  You require a simple mechanism for finding out time, to be abreast with time.

Switzerland is known for precision and luxury watches.  Hublot is a Swiss enterprise is a famous Watch manufacturer founded in 1980 by Carlo Crocco.  The watches are costly and highly sought after as only the  genuine ones  are allowed to be in circulation.  In 2009, Hublot unveiled a new method of detecting counterfeit watches. Using a WISeKey smart card, the system authenticates watches on Hublot's servers. The system went live in August 2009

Read about a new clock that will be the most accurate ever created by mankind - losing or gaining less than 1/20th of a second every 14 billion years.  The universe itself is around 14 billion years old - so had we been armed with one of these since the moment of the Big Bang, we would still be on time for work.  It's 100 times more accurate even than the best atomic clocks today, which are used to 'set' the time for mobile phone networks and GPS systems around the world. The clock would use a new technology where the 'pendulum' is a neutron inside an atom, rather than the electrons around it, which allows for greater precision.   The advantage of this clock is that it would allow scientists to test fundamental physical theories at unprecedented levels of precision and provide an unmatched tool for applied physics research.’

But that is nowhere near the costliest of the watches – Swiss watch maker Hublot, new watch has a price tag of  $5m price-tag  with 1,292 diamonds (140 carats of diamonds) set in white gold, is touted to be the world's most expensive watch !  That Hublot's watch with an unbelievable price tag of $5million, dazzles with a staggering 140 carats of diamonds, all set in white gold. The precious stones cover the entire face, as well as the band, giving an appearance more akin to fine jewellery than practical accessory.  The Company states that it took 17 people 14 months to design and make the watch.

If you are dumb-struck, according to Company’s statements, several people have expressed interest in buying the dazzling watch and despite the price tag, it seems Hublot will have no trouble selling the high-end creation and we talk of slowing economy and downturn. This costly piece was exhibited  at the year's Baselworld watch fest in Switzerland. According to one report quoting Digital Luxury Group, China has become the biggest market for the luxury watch industry, topping US demand. Some 1,815 exhibitors, including leading brands Rolex, Chopard and Omega, from 41 countries showcased their latest creations at the Baselworld fair, and more than a lakh visitors attended the show.
